Little Fawn
Finished in 2019, Little Fawn is a detached single-storey lodge with a modern design making a great base to explore the Northumberland National Park and beyond. Relax on the raised decked area in the private hot tub after a day out, on a nice evening it is perfect for stargazing as the lodge is on the edge of the National Park, an internationally recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and highly acclaimed International Dark Sky Park.
Located within the Otterburn Hall estate, there is a restaurant and small bar on-site as well as the local village pub offering plenty of food and drink. The village store stocks a good range of wines and daily essentials, or supermarket deliveries can be delivered straight to your lodge when you arrive. Otterburn Mill is a popular attraction, where you can find good outdoor and indoor wear, as well as a nice tearoom and a tourist information centre. The small town of Bellingham is only 9 miles away with a golf course and local amenities available as well as a visitor centre. Kielder Water also makes a lovely day out. You can stop off at the Bird Of Prey Centre or hop on the small ferry that operates on the water allowing you to appreciate the stunning scenery, this is a very popular area for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. There is also a small castle at Kielder with a lovely tearoom.
The Heritage Coast has miles of beautiful beaches and castles and is easily accessible. Why not head to Newcastle for the day to experience a real “Geordie” welcome. Perhaps have high tea at the Baltic Centre or have a photo taken in front of the iconic Millennium and Tyne bridges. Otterburn is surrounded by lovely countryside and it is easy to see why Northumberland was voted the top county to holiday in 2018 by the Visit Britain tourism awards. The diverse landscapes, National Park and fabulous coastlines, as well as Hadrian’s Wall, built by Emperor Hadrian, steeped in history with Roman Forts, all make brilliant days out. All of this, as well as the friendly Northumbrian locals, ensure you will have a lovely time exploring this delightful county. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
