Juniper Lodge (ref UKC3931) and Willow Lodge (ref UKC3932) sit side by side on the Otterburn Hall Lodge Park and each have been completed in 2019 with a contemporary modern ambience. Relax in the hot tub on the raised decking area after a day out exploring in this friendly and diverse county, voted ’best county to visit’ in the 2018 British Tourism Awards. The detached lodges are ideally located for families, couples or friends who wish to spend a relaxing week or well-deserved short break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They also make an ideal base for guests attending weddings at Le Petit Chateau or Woodside Hall.
The park is just within the National Park boundary, and on a clear night you can marvel at the abundance of stars, particularly beautiful while relaxing in the hot tub. Internationally acclaimed, the Northumberland National Park Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is officially the largest Dark Sky area in Europe. Drive over to Kielder Forest and Water Park where there are miles of mountain bike trails and walking routes along with a selection of watersports and visitor centres for outdoor enthusiasts.
Otterburn village has a small shop stocking essentials and a good selection of wines and beers. On site you will find The Coach House restaurant offering locally produced food (check opening times) with a small bar, and the pub in the village is just under a mile away. Bellingham, 9 miles, has a supermarket, butcher, baker and post office, and makes a pretty drive over the moors for a lovely change of scenery.
Otterburn Mill is popular with coach trips, offering discounted clothing and outdoor wear, and has a pleasant tea room and Tourist Information Centre. Whilst in Northumberland, don’t miss out on a day trip to the beautiful golden sands of the Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sprinkled with friendly villages and castles along the way. Explore the rock pools, or sample the locally caught seafood at the bustling harbours
Hexham Abbey is steeped in history, and is only 25 miles away, where you can experience the history of this pretty market town on the way to Hadrian’s Wall and one of the Roman Forts. Newcastle-upon-Tyne is only 32 miles away, and ideal if you want to explore some culture, theatre, shops and eateries. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
